Gold and Silver Prices Surge in India on September 4

The price of gold and silver rose in India on September 4, with 24-carat gold increasing by Rs 967 per 10 grams to Rs 1,54,908 and silver's price per kilogram rising by Rs 2,439 to Rs 2,34,972, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA).

This year, gold has seen a significant increase in value, with prices nearly Rs 22,000 higher than at the beginning of 2026. On December 31, 2025, 10 grams of gold were priced at around Rs 1.33 lakh, while now it's at nearly Rs 1.55 lakh.

Silver has also seen a price increase, rising to nearly Rs 2.35 lakh per kilogram from its end-of-2025 price of around Rs 2.30 lakh. Both metals have recorded sharp peaks this year, with gold touching an all-time high of Rs 1.76 lakh per 10 grams and silver reaching Rs 3.86 lakh per kilogram on January 29.
