Gold Climbs Above Two-Month Peak on US Inflation Data
Gold prices surged to their highest level in over two months on Wednesday after US inflation data matched market expectations. Spot gold rose by 0.9 percent to $4,406.64 per ounce at 17:30 GMT and surpassed the 100-day moving average of $4,387.22.
This marks a significant increase for gold, which had been trading below its 100-day average since June 5th. The sharp rise in prices was accompanied by increases in other metals, including silver, platinum, and palladium.
