Gold Crashes to ₹1.58 Lakh Per 10 Grams Amid Global Market Volatility
Gold prices continued their downward trend in India's national capital on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. According to the All India Sarafa Association, gold lost ₹2,150 and was trading at ₹1,58,100 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes). This decline marks the second consecutive session where gold prices have fallen.
The white metal, 99.9% pure gold, had previously settled at ₹1,60,250 per 10 grams in the preceding session. However, silver bucked this trend and rose by ₹600 to ₹2,41,100 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes). This increase is attributed to the weakness of the dollar.
Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at Lemonn, a brokerage platform, commented on the market situation. He noted that silver is recovering due to the weak dollar's support for precious metals and investors' focus on upcoming US inflation data and Federal Reserve rate expectations.
