Gold Edges Higher as Economy Concerns Grow Amid Rising Silver Prices
Gold and silver prices have been on the rise after crashing in recent months. The two precious metals reached record highs earlier this year but plummeted following President Trump's nominee for Fed chair position, Kevin Warsh.
The gold-silver ratio, which indicates how much more expensive gold is compared to silver, currently stands at around 67. Historically, the ratio has spiked during economic downturns, reaching a high of over 110 in 2020 and around 80 during the Great Recession.
With the current ratio below 70, there may be room for gold to rise further if economic conditions worsen. Investors concerned about the economy can track the price of gold through the SPDR Gold Shares fund, which has been rising alongside gold prices.
