Gold Edges Higher as Weaker Dollar Boosts Precious Metals
Gold prices rose slightly on Wednesday, buoyed by a weaker US dollar. The precious metal's value increased by 0.1% to $4,081.09 per ounce.
US gold futures, however, fell 0.4% to $4,137.20. This divergence in price movements between spot and futures markets is not uncommon.
The dollar's decline allowed other precious metals to gain ground as well. Spot silver rose by 0.2% to $59.61 per ounce, while platinum slipped 0.2% to $1,732.00.
Investors are keeping a close eye on upcoming US jobs data, which is expected to provide clues about the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy move.
