Gold ETF Buyers Fuel Bullion Rally Amid Economic Uncertainty
Gold prices have rebounded in recent days due to renewed investment from exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and central banks. The surge is the latest sign that investors are seeking safe-haven assets amidst economic uncertainty.
Total bullion holdings in ETFs have increased by 24 tons since July 20, marking the fastest pace of accumulation since early April. Central-bank purchases had already picked up, but the rebound only took hold once ETF inflows resumed.
The data suggests that institutional investors are returning to gold as a safe-haven asset, even though it has struggled to gain traction in recent years.
