Gold ETFs Continue to Attract Investors Despite Rebound in Gold Prices
Despite a sharp rebound in gold prices, Indian gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continued to attract investors in August. According to the World Gold Council's latest India Gold Market Update, gold ETFs received an estimated ₹1,179 crore in net inflows during the first two weeks of August.
This is a continuation of July's trend when gold ETFs attracted ₹1,560 crore in net inflows. However, this was 55% lower month-on-month, indicating that the pace of investment moderated after stronger inflows earlier.
The World Gold Council attributes the continued investor participation to strategic exposure to gold at lower prices and the subsequent rebound, which revived interest in the precious metal.
