Gold Futures Rise Despite Weaker COMEX Performance
Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher on August 28, despite a weaker performance on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX). The spot-month August 2026 contract rose to $4,602.0 per troy ounce from Thursday's $4,595.90.
The September 2026 contract edged up to $4,619.30 from $4,613.20, while the October and November 2026 contracts both increased to $4,635.50 per troy ounce from $4,629.40.
Trading volume declined to 347 lots from 620 lots on Thursday, while open interest contracted to 415 contracts from 688 contracts previously.
