Gold Futures Slide as COMEX Weakens
Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower yesterday, following a weaker performance of gold futures on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX). The spot-month August 2026 contract settled at US$4,595.90 per troy ounce, down from Wednesday's price of US$4,618.0. The September 2026 contract slipped to US$4,613.20 from US$4,635.50.
The October and November 2026 contracts both dropped to US$4,629.40 per troy ounce from US$4,651.90, while the December 2026 and February 2027 contracts retreated to US$4,637.20 from US$4,659.70.
Trading volume jumped to 620 lots from 354 lots on Wednesday, with open interest advancing to 688 contracts from 425 contracts previously.
