Gold Holds Steady Amid Inflation Report Jitters, Cryptos Surge

Gold prices held steady on Wednesday at $4,652.39 per ounce after scaling a more than three-month high in the previous session.

Investors are awaiting a key US inflation report to gauge the Federal Reserve's interest-rate path.

The US dollar index was also holding steady at 98.918 in early Asian trading, having snapped a three-day winning streak on Tuesday.

Cryptocurrencies were rising, with Bitcoin up 0.8 percent at $78,829.03 and ether up 0.7 percent at $2,453.10.
