Gold Jumps as Oil Prices Plummet Amid Middle East Calm
Gold prices rose on Monday as Middle East hostilities paused, causing oil prices to drop sharply. Spot gold increased by 0.9% to $4,087.79 per ounce by 0421 GMT.
US gold futures also saw a gain of 0.5%, reaching $4,089.90.
The pause in hostilities had a ripple effect across other metals as well, with spot silver rising 1.7% to $59.16 per ounce and platinum climbing 1.5% to $1,612.04.
