Gold mining exchange-traded funds (ETFs) surged by 40% over one month, significantly outperforming the price of gold itself. The recent rally in international gold prices has driven up returns on these ETFs.

The WisdomTree Efficient Gold Plus Gold Miners Strategy Fund (GDMN) rose 47.60%, while the iShares MSCI Global Gold Miners ETF (RING) gained 42.85%. The VanEck Gold Miners ETF (GDX) and the Global X Gold Explorers ETF (GOEX) each rose 38.60%.

The strong performance of gold mining stocks reflects the significant increase in international gold prices, which have risen by 17.25% over one month to their highest level since May. Analysts attribute this gain to concerns over US fiscal health and a weaker dollar.
