Gold Price Drops to ₹1.51 Lakh, Silver Falls by ₹1,270 as Precious Metals Decline in India
Precious metals saw another decline in India's domestic markets on September 15. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), 24-carat gold dropped by ₹888 per 10 grams, while silver slipped by ₹1,270 per kilogram.
The price of 24-carat gold fell to around ₹1.51 lakh per 10 grams, a decline of ₹5,000 over the last 15 days. Silver prices also plummeted to around ₹2.28 lakh per kilogram, down by ₹10,000 from August 31.
Market analysts expect gold and silver to remain volatile in the near term, with some predicting that prices may continue to decline until the US Federal Reserve clarifies its interest rate path. Despite this, geopolitical tensions and broader economic uncertainties are expected to keep safe-haven demand alive.
