Gold Price in Chennai Jumps by Rs 640 on August 24

The price of gold in Chennai has increased by Rs 640 per sovereign on August 24. This brings the current price to Rs 1,20,240 per sovereign and Rs 15,030 per gram.

Compared to last year's prices, gold is significantly higher. On August 23, 2025, the price of gold was Rs 74,520 per sovereign (Rs 9,315 per gram). This marks an increase of Rs 45,720 per sovereign or about 61.35 percent.

Silver prices have also increased to Rs 275 per gram (Rs 2,75,000 per kg) on August 24. This is a Rs 5 increase from the previous day's price of Rs 270 per gram.
