Gold Price Jumps in India Amid Ongoing Middle East Tensions
The gold price in India has risen to Rs 15,458 per gram for 24 carat gold and Rs 14,170 per gram for 22 carat gold as of September 12, 2026. According to Good Returns, the prices have seen a slight increase from the previous day.
Vedika Narvekar, Research Analyst- Commodities & Currencies at Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers Limited, noted that 'Gold is trying to steady itself today, trading near $4,330 an ounce. It's a small bounce, but the metal is still digesting yesterday's sharp 1.8% fall and heading for its third straight weekly loss.'
The recent surge in global energy volatility due to tensions in West Asia has driven investors towards gold as a safe-haven asset, causing domestic metal prices to rise in line with international spot rates.
