Gold Price Plunges in India Amid Weak Domestic Buying Sentiment
The price of gold in India has fallen sharply, with 24-carat gold in Delhi dropping to ₹144,470 per 10 grams on July 25. This decline follows a previous fall of ₹2,000 on the same day, bringing the price of 99.9 percent purity gold down to ₹1,47,200 per 10 grams. The drop in gold prices is attributed to weak buying sentiment in the domestic market and pressure from global factors.
The international spot gold price stood at $4,052.78 per ounce on July 25. However, a slight rise was seen due to the falling price of Brent crude oil below $100 per barrel.
