Gold Price Rally Lifts Meeka Metals Amid Murchison Production Ramp-Up
Meeka Metals (ASX:MEK) shares rose by 7.14% on Monday, as the gold price hit near-record highs in early August. The company's Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia is already producing gold and working towards nameplate capacity.
The project has a resource of around 1.2 million ounces of gold at a grade near 3 grams per tonne, supporting a mine life extending beyond a decade at current extraction rates.
Meeka's operational substance sets it apart from its small-cap peers, with actual production and cash flow providing leverage to the gold price. The company has pointed to project economics that stack up across a wide range of gold prices, with net present value of around AUD 616 million and all-in sustaining costs in the region of AUD 2,133 an ounce.
The near-term catalysts for Meeka are operational, with investors watching quarterly production and cost reports to confirm the plant is tracking towards nameplate throughput and that all-in sustaining costs remain contained. Consistent delivery is key to converting a promising ramp-up into a re-rating.
