Gold Price Soars 173,500% Over 79 Years Amid Global Economic Uncertainty
New Delhi, India - On this 80th Independence Day, investors can celebrate not just national pride but also record-breaking returns on their gold investments. The price of gold has surged by a staggering 173,500% in the last 79 years, from around Rs.89 per 10 grams to over Rs.1,54,500 per 10 grams in the retail bullion market.
This incredible growth is attributed to global economic uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and Trump's tariffs. Gold experts point out that the precious metal has become an investor's haven during times of risk, offering a safe-haven asset for those looking to diversify their portfolios.
Anuj Gupta, a SEBI-registered market expert, notes that gold prices have risen sharply over the last decade, with the price jumping from Rs.28,623 per 10 grams to over Rs.1,54,500 in just 10 years - a decadal growth of around 450%.
Gupta also highlights the importance of long-term investment in gold, stating that it offers at least 9%-10% annual returns if held for 9-10 years. He advises investors to consider options other than physical gold, such as gold ETFs and gold bonds, which offer additional benefits like security.
