The gold price on the Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) has seen a sharp increase, rising by 13.51% or Rs 19,212 per 10 gram in August 2026.

This surge has reignited hopes for long-term investors who had been waiting to book profits or rebalance their portfolio.

Investors with gold investments of one year or older have gained something from their holdings, according to the systematic investment plan (SIP) data of Kotak Gold Exchange Traded Fund (ETF), which has delivered approximately 37% return in one year and 44% in three years.

However, experts advise caution for investors who bought gold at its peak rate or those who are looking to buy more at current levels.
