Gold Price Stabilizes in India Amid Ongoing Domestic Demand
Gold prices in India remained steady on September 11, 2026, due to ongoing domestic demand. The retail price for 24-karat gold (99.9% purity) was at INR 1,55,520 per 10 grams, while 22-karat gold (91.6% purity) traded at INR 1,42,560 per 10 grams. The prices varied slightly across key commercial hubs, with 24-karat gold retailing at INR 15,567 per gram in New Delhi and INR 15,552 per gram in financial centers like Mumbai and Chennai.
The Bureau of Standards (BIS) hallmarking is essential for consumers purchasing physical gold to ensure certified purity. Jewellery buyers are advised that retail rates exclude mandatory three percent Goods and Services Tax (GST), TCS, and local making charges. Market analysts note that bullion prices continue to draw support from domestic retail interest and broader macroeconomic factors.
