Gold Price Surges to ₹1.64 Lakh on Weakened Dollar
The price of gold surged in India on August 24, 2026, due to a weakened US dollar and increased safe-haven demand. According to reports from India, the indicative price for 24-carat gold was ₹16,397 per gram, up by ₹88 from the previous day's rate.
The international market also saw a significant increase in gold prices, with spot gold reaching levels of about $4,649 per troy ounce, its highest level since May 15. US gold futures reached around $4,706 per troy ounce.
Gold gained approximately 1% during the session on Monday and rose more than 5% last week. The metal's price reached its highest level since May 15, 2026.
