Gold Price Teeters on Breakout as Consolidation Phase Continues

Gold prices are stuck in a symmetrical triangle pattern with long-term ascending trendline support and resistance, indicating that a breakout is imminent. The price is currently trading around $4,057, caught between the 50-EMA at $4,059 and the 100-EMA at $4,067. This suggests that the price will break out in one direction or another.

Should the price break to the upside, it will encounter resistance at $4,067 and then at $4,115, where a trendline resistance is found. A break above this area would mark an official breakout of the consolidation and target $4,148. On the other hand, if the price breaks down, bullish trendline support and demand zone convergence at $3,999 would be the next level of support.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently at the 50-level, indicating indecision in the market. The breakout from the current triangle is expected to have a significant impact on the overall market direction for the mid-term.
