Gold Price Tops $4500 Per Ounce for First Time Since June
The gold price has surged past $4,500 per ounce for the first time since June 5, according to Qazinform News Agency. The December 2026 delivery of gold futures contracts on the Comex exchange reached a high of $4,502.7 per troy ounce at 1:00 p.m. GMT, marking a 1.39% increase from the previous price.
The price then narrowed slightly to $4,490.5 per troy ounce by 1:05 p.m. GMT, still up 1.11%. Silver futures for September 2026 delivery also saw gains, rising 2.26% to reach $66.4 per troy ounce.
Kazakhstan's recent surge in gold buying has been noted, with the country ranking among the world's top five gold buyers in Q2 2026, according to the World Gold Council's quarterly report.
