Gold Prices Drop Amid Middle East Uncertainty and US Jobs Data Looming
Gold prices declined on Tuesday due to uncertainty over the conflict in the Middle East and concerns about inflation. This cautionary approach was also influenced by upcoming US employment reports, which could provide insight into the Federal Reserve's policy path.
Spot gold fell by 0.3% to $4,029.84 an ounce, while US gold futures for August delivery dropped 0.5% to $4,029.00 an ounce. The decline in precious metals was widespread, with spot silver down 0.8%, platinum falling 1.6%, and palladium dropping 1.8%.
The Middle East conflict continues to be a major source of uncertainty for investors, with its impact still unclear. Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve's next move is also on everyone's mind as the US employment reports are set to provide crucial data later this week.
