Gold Prices Eased Amid Rising Oil Costs and Interest Rate Uncertainty
Gold prices have dipped slightly on Tuesday as oil prices rose and investors await key inflation data later this week for clues about the Federal Reserve's interest rate decisions. Spot gold fell by 0.1% to $4,399.99 an ounce after reaching a high of $4,442.70 in the session.
The decrease in gold prices comes as US gold futures for December delivery also dropped 0.7% to $4,444.50 an ounce. Other precious metals showed varying movements: spot silver fell 0.1% to $66.08 an ounce, while platinum rose 0.6% to $1,836.72 and palladium declined 0.4% to $1,387.43.
