Gold Prices Edge Higher on MCX Despite Decline in Retail Rates
On July 25, 2026, gold prices saw mixed trends on MCX, while retail rates continued to reflect the decline seen in the previous trading session. The 24-carat gold futures contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) traded 0.17 per cent higher, rising Rs 245 to Rs 1,43,066 per 10 grams during morning trade.
Globally, gold also traded higher, with prices reaching $4,055.70 per ounce. The Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) quoted 24-carat (999 purity) gold at Rs 1,42,757 per 10 grams at the close of trading on Friday.
In Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,47,200 per 10 grams, while in Mumbai, it was Rs 147,280 per 10 grams. According to Praveen Singh, head of commodities at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, spot gold was trading marginally higher at around $4,060 per ounce in overseas markets.
