Gold Prices Edge Lower Ahead of Fed Rate Decision
Gold prices declined slightly on Wednesday as investors awaited the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision for clues on inflation and interest rates. The Fed is set to conclude its two-day policy meeting, with markets anticipating no change in interest rates.
The U.S. dollar remained steady near its highest level in a month, making dollar-denominated gold more expensive for holders of other currencies.
Spot gold fell 0.1% to $4,021.87 per ounce, while US gold futures for August delivery declined 0.4% to $4,021.70 per ounce.
