Gold Prices Edge Up on Weaker Dollar and Lower US Treasury Yields
Gold prices rose marginally on August 21, boosted by a decline in US Treasury yields and a weaker dollar. The COMEX gold futures price increased 0.32% to $4,586 per ounce.
The MCX gold futures for October contract surged 0.17% to Rs 1,59,700 per 10 grams, while the silver futures for September contract was up 0.52% to Rs 2,44,500 per kilogram.
Analyst Jateen Trivedi from LKP Securities noted that gold prices vary among cities, with a range of Rs 1,57,000 to Rs 1,59,500 expected in the near term for MCX Gold.
