Gold Prices Extend Gains Amid Easing Rate Hike Fears
Gold prices rose for a third consecutive day on Tuesday, buoyed by easing concerns over a potential US interest rate hike next month.
The spot price of gold increased by 0.2% to $4,424.28 per ounce at 1:30 GMT, while US gold futures for December delivery edged 0.2% higher to $4,480.90.
A weaker US currency has contributed to the gains in gold, making dollar-priced metals cheaper for holders of other currencies.
Analysts believe that the Fed will keep rates on hold this year, following last week's soft US economic data.
