Gold Prices Fall Amid Global Crises and Tighter Monetary Policy Expectations
Gold and silver prices declined in domestic markets on September 11, tracking weakness in international bullion prices. Investors assessed US inflation data and its potential impact on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy. According to retail rates, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹151,150 per 10 grams in Delhi.
22-carat gold stood at ₹138,554 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, 24-carat gold was quoted at ₹151,410 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹138,793. Spot gold was trading around $4,339 an ounce on Friday after recording losses earlier in the week.
Market participants said volatility could remain elevated as investors balance demand for gold as a safe-haven asset against expectations for interest rates and movements in global financial markets.
