Gold Prices Fall Amid Rising Interest-Rate Expectations
Gold and silver prices declined on August 14, as investors booked profits after a recent rally. The MCX gold and silver futures fell, with gold down 0.69% at ₹1,52,406 per 10 grams and silver falling 0.85% to ₹2,33,455 per kg.
The decline in bullion prices comes as investors assess inflation and interest-rate expectations, making gold relatively less attractive compared to yield-bearing assets. The US dollar's movement, crude oil prices, and signals from the Federal Reserve are also being watched for their impact on bullion.
Kerala retail gold prices were approximately ₹15,359-₹15,513 per gram, while silver was around ₹260 per gram in Kerala.
