Gold Prices Fluctuate Amid Uncertainty Over September Interest Rate Hike

The gold market was relatively quiet on September 7th after a sharp drop earlier in the week. SJC gold bars in Ho Chi Minh City and the North continued to trade at 144.6 million VND/ounce for buying and 147.6 million VND/ounce for selling, unchanged from September 6th.

The global market was also relatively stable, with gold trading at around $4,431 per ounce on September 7th, only about $1 higher than the previous day's $4,430 per ounce.

The market is awaiting US inflation data, which will be released on September 10 and 11. If the CPI shows high inflation, it could reinforce a scenario of a September interest rate hike, leading to a stronger USD, rising bond yields, and downward pressure on gold prices.
