Gold Prices Hold Steady on August 4 Amid International Market Trends
Gold and silver prices were largely stable on August 4 due to weakness in international bullion markets. Gold prices hit ₹1,44,210 per 10 gram, while silver rates neared ₹2,34,900 per kg.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures rose by 0.42% to ₹1.43 lakh per 10 grams, whereas silver futures increased by around 1.06% to ₹2.19 lakh per kilogram.
The retail market continues to trade in two purities: 24-karat and 22-karat. While 24-karat gold is the purest form, 22-karat gold is preferred for jewellery due to its greater strength and durability.
