Gold prices declined by ₹2,045 to ₹1,54,236 per 10 grams in futures trade on Monday amid weaker spot demand. The Multi Commodity Exchange saw yellow metal contracts for October delivery trading lower by 1.31% at ₹1,54,236 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 2,680 lots.

Analysts attributed the decline to a fall in precious metal prices due to reduced spot demand. Globally, gold futures dropped by 0.51% to $4,432.51 per ounce in New York on August 31, 2026.
