Gold Prices Plummet Amid US Jobs Data Anticipation and Middle East Tensions
Gold prices declined on Tuesday as investors awaited key US jobs data this week and assessed tensions in the Middle East. The upcoming data is expected to influence the Federal Reserve's monetary policy direction.
Spot gold fell by 0.4 percent to $4,428.54 an ounce by 04:32 GMT, after reaching its lowest level since August 19 in the previous session.
Among other precious metals, spot silver dropped by 0.2 percent to $66.42 an ounce, while platinum rose by 0.4 percent to $1,797.71 an ounce, and palladium remained steady at $1,355.08 an ounce.
