Gold Prices Plummet by Tk 11,489 in Two Rounds
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has cut the price of gold ornaments in the domestic market for the second time this week. The price of the best quality 22-carat gold was reduced by Tk 4,374 per bhori to Tk 2,36,254 per bhori, effective from 10am on Monday.
This decision came in response to a fall in the price of tejabi (pure) gold in the local market. Alongside 22-carat gold, the price of 21-carat gold ornaments was also reduced by Tk 4,141 to Tk 2,25,640 per bhori.
Additionally, the price of 18-carat gold ornaments has been cut by Tk 3,616 to Tk 1,93,739 per bhori, while traditional gold ornaments now cost Tk 1,58,280 per bhori, down Tk 2,916. This marks a total reduction in the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 11,489 in just two rounds.
