Gold Prices Plummet for Fifth Straight Day Amid US-Iran Tensions
Gold prices in India fell for the fifth consecutive day on September 1 to trade at Rs 1.58 lakh per 10 grams in Delhi, down by Rs 2,700 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,60,900 per 10 grams.
This marks a nearly two-week low, with gold of 99.9% purity last trading at this level on August 19 when it was quoted at Rs 1,58,000 per 10 grams.
The precious metal has plunged by Rs 8,900 or 5.3% in the past five sessions from Rs 1,67,100 per 10 grams recorded on August 25.
Silver also declined by Rs 5,000 to Rs 2,40,500 per kg, down from Monday's closing level of Rs 2,45,500 per kg.
