The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has lowered the price of gold in the country. The latest adjustment affects 22-carat, 21-carat, and 18-carat gold, with prices now set at Tk231,880 per bhori for 22-carat, Tk221,441 per bhori for 21-carat, and Tk190,123 per bhori for 18-carat. Gold sold under the traditional system will cost Tk155,306 per bhori.

The price cut is a result of a decline in the price of pure gold, with BAJUS taking overall market conditions into consideration. The new prices were approved unanimously at a meeting of BAJUS's Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring at 9:00am Friday and took effect at 10:00am.

BAJUS did not provide further information on the impact of this price adjustment, but it is clear that gold buyers in Bangladesh will benefit from the lower prices. The latest move follows a trend of regular price adjustments by BAJUS to reflect changes in global market conditions.
