On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, gold futures slipped by ₹208 to ₹1.54 lakh per 10gm on the MCX in India.

Silver futures, however, climbed ₹456 to ₹2.40 lakh per kilogram on the same platform.

The drop in gold prices was mainly due to lower spot demand, but fresh buying pushed silver up.

Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at Lemonn, notes that global trends such as a stronger dollar and speculation about US Federal Reserve policy are influencing gold's performance.
