Gold Prices Plummet in India Amid Ongoing Volatility
The gold price in India has been experiencing significant volatility over the past few sessions. On August 30, 2026, the price of 24K gold was ₹15,824 per gram, while 22K gold stood at ₹14,505 and 18K gold at ₹11,868. Since August 21, the price of 24K gold has fallen by ₹333, from ₹16,157 to ₹15,824.
Internationally, gold markets continue to react to geopolitical events and changes in oil and foreign exchange markets. In Singapore, the 24K gold value per gram was ₹14,511, while it stood at ₹14,055 in the US, ₹14,071 in Qatar, and ₹13,949 in the UAE.
According to analysts, the precious metal is expected to continue reacting to news from the geopolitical sector, currency rates, and international gold prices. The current pullback indicates that traders are not experiencing the same unidirectional pattern in prices. However, it is essential for investors to differentiate jewellery buying from gold buying.
For those considering purchasing gold, today's relatively stable price may provide some visibility after the recent correction. Nevertheless, it is crucial to avoid treating a single day's rate as a guaranteed bottom and to consider staggering purchases to reduce risk.
