Gold Prices Plummet in India on September 1, with 24K Falling ₹268 per Gram
The gold price in India has declined significantly on September 1, 2026. According to the latest rates, 24-karat gold is quoted at ₹15,409 per gram, down ₹268 from the previous day's rate. This decline means that a 10-gram unit of 24K gold now costs ₹1,54,090.
The prices for 22-karat and 18-karat gold have also fallen, with 22K standing at ₹14,125 per gram and 18K at ₹11,557 per gram. The daily fall in these categories was ₹245 and ₹201 respectively.
International spot gold prices were around $4,437.10 an ounce, down 0.3% from the previous day's rate. US gold futures were near $4,485.30 an ounce, up 0.1%. This indicates that global demand for gold remains strong, despite some short-term price fluctuations.
The MCX October gold futures contract was quoted at ₹1,54,252 per 10 grams, down 0.13% during the reported session. Traders appear to be watching interest-rate expectations closely, which is influencing market sentiment.
