Gold Prices Plunge in Baghdad and Erbil Markets

Gold prices in Baghdad and Erbil markets have fallen, according to a recent survey by Shafaq News. On Saturday, gold was being sold at around 970,000 IQD per mithqal (five grams) on Al-Nahr Street in Baghdad, with prices ranging from 970,000 to 980,000 IQD for 21-carat Gulf gold in jewelry stores. The same gold had previously sold for 995,000 IQD on Thursday.

The selling price for 21-carat Iraqi gold stood at 940,000 IQD, while the buying price was 936,000 IQD. In Erbil, prices were even lower, with 22-carat gold being sold at 1,000,000 IQD per mithqal and 18-carat gold at 820,000 IQD.
