Gold Prices Plunge Over 4% in a Week Amid Global Economic Volatility
Gold and silver prices in India experienced a sharp decline on Monday, August 31. The domestic and global markets were under pressure, influencing precious metal rates. At the pan-India level, 24K gold was priced at around ₹1,56,850 per 10 grams, while 22K gold stood at ₹1,43,779 per 10 grams.
Silver 999 fine was trading at approximately ₹2,42,190 per kg. City-wise rates varied slightly across major cities. Mumbai recorded a 24K gold price of ₹1,56,650 and a 22K rate of ₹1,43,513. Delhi had the lowest prices for both metals.
The highest gold prices were found in Chennai, with a 24K rate of ₹1,57,020 and a 22K rate of ₹1,43,935. Bengaluru's rates were similar to Mumbai's. Silver prices also declined, with city-wise rates ranging from ₹2,41,760 per kg in Mumbai to ₹2,42,460 in Chennai.
