Gold Prices Poised for Rebound to $5,000 Amid Central Bank Demand
Gold prices may be poised for a rebound to $5,000 per ounce by the end of this year or early in 2027, driven by sustained demand from central banks. Deutsche Bank research analyst Michael Hsueh described the current phase of gold pricing as explosive and projects the metal will reach $4,700 per ounce by the end of 2026.
The current price pressure on gold is temporary, caused by energy costs and interest rates. However, official demand for gold hit a record $45 billion in the second quarter, with a substantial portion remaining unreported.
Aakash Doshi, head of gold strategy at State Street Investment Management, echoed Hsueh's optimistic view, saying gold could climb to $5,000 per ounce by the end of this year or early in 2027, supported by robust purchases from China and continued central bank demand across emerging markets.
