Gold Prices Poised for Surge as Central Banks Boost Holdings
A recent report from Vallum Capital suggests that gold and silver prices are likely to surge due to the debasement trade. The report states that central banks bought a substantial amount of gold in the second quarter of 2026, with 288.9 tonnes purchased, marking a significant increase of 411 per cent compared to the previous quarter.
The report further notes that Western ETF outflows reached 44.8 tonnes and jewellery demand fell 17 per cent during this period. Despite these developments, Vallum Capital believes that gold and silver are poised for a substantial rally as fiscal dominance and shifting real yields reshape the macro-outlook.
The report identifies two key structural markers: a 2 per cent real yield threshold and a reversing Dollar Index. These signals indicate a durable reversal rather than just a chart pattern, according to Vallum Capital.
