Gold Prices Rebound Above $4,600 as Market Awaits Fed Clarity
Gold prices rebounded on August 28, surpassing $4,600 per ounce as investors await clarity from US Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole seminar.
The spot gold price increased by 0.19% to $4,610.57 per ounce, while December gold futures dipped slightly by 0.02% to $4,662.90 per ounce.
This reversal comes after gold prices had been under pressure due to investor caution over US inflation and interest rates. However, the market's focus is now on Warsh's speech, which may provide more clues about the direction of US monetary policy.
Fed officials have expressed concerns about inflation, with the Personal Consumption Price Index (PCE) rising by 3.7% in 12 months up to July. High interest rates typically put pressure on gold prices, but expectations of a Fed easing policy may support cash flow into gold.
