Gold prices rebounded on August 8, 2026, ending a prolonged decline and offering investors an opportunity to buy or take profits. Positive ETF inflows have returned, with global gold-backed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) increasing their holdings by 23.5 tonnes in July.

The World Gold Council reported that European-listed funds played a significant role in these inflows, with investors strengthening their positions after a period of gold price correction. According to BCA Research, the current time presents an opportunity to accumulate gold, as US real interest rates have likely peaked and are no longer putting downward pressure on prices.

Roukaya Ibrahim, chief commodity strategist at BCA Research, believes that investors should pay more attention to the outlook for real yields rather than focusing solely on inflation. She also notes that the current recommendation to buy gold is based on the expectation that real yields and the US dollar will not continue to rise sharply from their current levels.
