Gold prices inched up by ₹309 to ₹1.52 lakh per 10 grams on firm spot demand, according to data from the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). The yellow metal contract for the October delivery traded higher at ₹1,52,650 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 10,209 lots.

Fresh positions by market participants led to a rise in the precious metal's prices, analysts said. This is evident from the gold futures that rose 0.44% to $4,387.97 per ounce in New York.
