Gold Prices Rise Amid Firm Spot Demand
Gold prices in India rose on Thursday, September 10, due to firm spot demand and fresh positions taken by speculators. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold contract for October delivery gained Rs 231, or 0.15 per cent, to trade at Rs 1,53,994 per 10 grams.
The business turnover of this contract was 867 lots. Market analysts attributed the rise in prices to fresh positions taken by participants amid firm demand for gold in the spot market.
In the international market, gold futures also gained, rising 0.47 per cent to USD 4,419.57 per ounce in New York. This indicates a strong global trend that is influencing domestic markets.
