Gold Prices Rise Amid Global Economic Uncertainty on August 8
Gold prices in India rose on August 8, 2026, due to increased demand for safe-haven assets amid global economic uncertainty. The gold rate today saw a marginal increase across major cities, with the precious metal trading at around INR 1,49,900 per 10 grams for 24 carat gold and INR 1,37,410 per 10 grams for 22 carat gold.
The global bullion market was influenced by US-Iran tensions and lower US Treasury yields, which boosted demand for safe-haven assets. The COMEX gold price traded near $4,320 per ounce, contributing to the rise in domestic gold prices.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures opened higher at around Rs 1,49,029 per 10 grams and touched an intraday high near Rs 1,49,700, up roughly 0.8% during the session.
